Press conference, devoted to sociological research company UDP Renewables in cooperation with KMEF

12 November 2019 Bohush Communications with the team and the organizers KMEF, in particular, climate panel held a press conference: "Are Ukrainian climate change". The conference discussed the results of the sociological study of environmental consciousness Ukrainian. The event was also attended panel discussion moderated by Sergey Yevtushenko, KMEF organizing committee chairman Yuri Pivovarov, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environment Alex Ryabchyn, Doctor of Social Sciences and head of the public opinion research “Partners” Alexander Stegny, President of the PR-agency «Bohush Communications» Denis Bogush.

According to the participants of the press conference, in many countries was recorded a significant increase of the need, relating to climate change, growing environmental consciousness of society, popularized the culture of responsible consumption. This was the reason, KMEF that together with public opinion research center Socis, Renewables firm UDP and supported Bohush Communications Agency conducted a large-scale opinion poll on climate change in Ukraine.

The research contains actual information about Ukrainian environmental awareness and the dynamics of change. The period of investigation:

11 – 18 September 2019. All were interviewed 1200 respondents.

This study – is not only a current survey 2019 year, This kind of analytical report, which compared data from studies 2014 and 2017 year, conducted by the Global Environment Facility as part of the United Nations Development Program “The integration of the Convention into national policies Rio Ukraine”.

The results of the study 2019 was named following:

First place in the ranking of the threats turned out to future generations “pollution”, pushing, so “War and conflict”, that in 2014 and 2017 years ranked first, and depletion of natural resources “rose from 5 on 3 position.

Relevant environmental issues were identified for Ukraine following:

Problems with waste – 57,5%

Deforestation – 56,4%

Pollution of rivers – 54,4%

Air Pollution – 45,4%

soil contamination – 25,3%

Also, the study found, that Ukrainian environmental awareness and their interest in eco-positive products and services gained growth compared with data research 2014 and 2017.

73,2% Ukrainian willing to work for a better environment.

67,2% willing to pay more for energy, produced by environmentally friendly technology.

89,4% ready to give up disposable plastic. This very good performance.
